THE NATIONAL Democratic Congress (NDC) has opened nominations for its nationwide branch elections as part of efforts to reorganize the party.
In a statement dated April 27, 2026, and signed by Barbara Serwaah Asamoah, Deputy General Secretary (Finance and Administration), on behalf of the General Secretary, the party said nominations will run from May 2 to May 16, 2026. The exercise will cover all 40,647 branches across the country’s 276 constituencies.
Nomination forms will be available online at forms.ghanandc.com from May 2 at a cost of GHS 20. Members can also pay their dues using the shortcode 92025# or through www.ndc.org.gh/dues.
Branch elections will take place from May 20 to June 30, 2026. The party says the process is important to strengthen its grassroots structures and has urged members to take part peacefully and in unity.
The party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) has also directed some officeholders to step down before contesting higher positions to avoid conflicts of interest. Ministers and Deputy Ministers must resign by April 30, 2026.
Chief Executive Officers, Managing Directors, and their deputies must resign by May 14, 2026.
Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives must resign by June 7, 2026.
The NDC says the branch elections are a key step in preparing the party for future internal and national contests.
