THE MEMBER of Parliament for Salaga–South in the Northern Region, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Hon. Salifu Adam Braimah, sharing a personal story that highlights his warmth and character.
She recalled a moment in 2012 during a Gonja Land Youth Association event, where the late statesman arrived wearing a beautiful traditional smock that immediately caught her attention. Impressed by its design, she paused her conversation to admire it and mentioned that she would like to get one for her husband.
With his usual kindness and humour, Hon. Braimah promised to have one made for her. Although the smock never came, the promise became a running joke between them. Each time they met, she would remind him, and he would respond with laughter—something she says reflected his friendly and cheerful nature.
Hon. Ibrahimah said his passing is painful not just because he is gone, but because of the small, meaningful moments and conversations that can no longer be shared. She noted that these simple memories now carry great weight.
She added that the smock in her story symbolized more than clothing—it represented identity. According to her, Hon. Braimah was proud of his heritage and always stayed true to himself, even in public life. He did not feel the need to change who he was to fit expectations.

She also extended her condolences to his family, reminding the public that behind every leader is a private life and loved ones who are grieving. She called on the community to support the family during this difficult time.
Finally, she urged the youth of Salaga–South and the Savannah Region to honour his memory by living out the values he stood for—integrity, honesty, and respectful leadership.
