THE PEOPLE of Matilapo are witnessing firsthand, the true meaning of “talk-and-do mama” leadership from their Member of Parliament for Salaga-South, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah.
For years, the children of Matilapo struggled to learn under an incomplete shed- exposed to the harsh weather and denied the dignity of a proper classroom.
When Hon. Hajia Zuwera visited the community, the residents poured out their concerns, pleading for a school where their children could learn in safety and comfort.
She listened with empathy, and true to her word, she refused to let their cry become just another forgotten political promise. She took swift action.
Today, her commitment is visible for all to see: the construction of a modern 3-unit classroom block is progressing steadily in Matilapo. The project goes beyond just classrooms; it includes an office for teachers, a storeroom, and washrooms, ensuring a complete and dignified learning environment.
Once completed, the school will not only transform education for the children of Matilapo but will also benefit neighbouring communities, creating greater access to quality education across the area.
This project reflects the hallmark of Hon. Hajia Zuwera’s leadership – she listens, she responds, and she delivers. It also highlights her deep passion for education as the key to empowering young people and building a stronger future for Salaga-South.
