GREATER Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, has expressed strong disappointment over what she describes as growing inefficiency and complacency among Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).
Speaking on August 28, 2025, in response to concerns over the unauthorized filling of a lagoon at Kpone, the minister criticized the poor oversight and lax enforcement by some local authorities. She called on MMDCEs to take their duties more seriously and act decisively to prevent such environmental violations.
“I am extremely disappointed with the level of inefficiency and complacency exhibited by Chief Executives,” she said.
Her remarks highlight growing concerns over local government performance and accountability.
