DEPUTY MINISTER of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts and MP for Ayawaso North, Hon. Yusif Jajah, has donated 120 streetlights to the Ayawaso North Municipal Assembly to improve safety and visibility across the municipality.
The donation, made on August 20, 2025, is part of a broader effort to reduce crime, enhance night-time security, and support local businesses by enabling longer trading hours.
Speaking at the brief ceremony, Hon. Jajah reiterated his dedication to improving the living conditions of his constituents, saying, “Lighting up our communities is key to development, safety, and economic activity.”
Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Haruna Mohammed Awal, expressed gratitude to the MP and assured residents that the streetlights will be fairly distributed, with priority given to areas most affected by poor lighting. Installation is set to begin in the coming weeks.
