The newly emerged angry pressure group dubbed “ARISE GHANA” has insisted on a bi-partisan enquiry into how the huge millions of Dollas/Cedis COVID-19 funds was disbursed.
The NPP government received a huge sums of COVID-19 funds of over 12billion Ghana Cedis and nobody in Ghana could tell what the money was disbursed or used for. There are strong suspicion in Ghana that the Nana Addo government channelled these funds to secure the 2020 general elections.
Although his government refuted this allegation, but they are also running away from accountability with the help of their majority side MPs in Ghana’s parliament to cover up so that Ghanaians will not know how they spent the money.
ARISE GHANA Group, made up of media personnel, various political parties, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and some Independent minded Ghanaians were not happy with how this NPP administration is running the country bequeathed them with so much yet the country is economically grounded.
ARISE GHANA, SERVE GHANA NOW, is made up of more youth have realised the bragged NPP government is running the country under serious corruption and pure criminalities. And this earns President Akufo-Addo the accolade, “THE MOTHER SERPENT OF CORRUPTION”.
Numerous reports, some of which came from the Auditor General Department, indicated that huge funds running into millions and billions of dollars and Ghana Cedis vanished whilst the country is facing serious financial challenges.
These and many other corrupt deals made ARISE GHANA GROUP to consider as “nonsense” and embarked on a-2-day maiden demonstration in Accra, the capital of Ghana last month and planning to replicate one at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region come August 22, 2022.
At a media briefing in Accra, the group indicated that prior to the Ashanti Regional demonstration, a forum would be held on July 20, 2022 at GNAT Hall in Accra on the theme; “GHANA’S CURRENT SOCIO-ECONOMIC POSITION AND THE PROSPECT OF AN IMF PROGRAMME”.
At the forum, several distinguished scholars, experts, nationalists amongst others are expected to share their knowledge with Ghanaians on the theme.
ARISE GHANA reiterated the call on this insensitive NPP government led by President Akufo-Addo and his Vice, Dr. Bawumia to reduce fuel price, repeal fuel taxes such as sanitation (bollar) levy, special petroleum tax, COVID-19 levy amongst many other nuisance taxes.
The Group also charged the MOTHER SERPENT OF CORRUPTION IN GHANA, PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO Akufo-Addo to drop the stinking AGYAPA deal and other criminal deals he brings onboard to benefit him and his family and friends at the expense of the State.
The media briefing iterated that this NPP government led by President Akufo-Addo and his Vice, Dr. Mahamoudu Bawumia messed up the economy which brought a serious hardship on Ghanaians.
