THE DIRECTOR in charge of Special Duties of the Greater Accra Regional Campaign Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fiifi Taylor has admonished all NDC polling agents to be extra vigilant on the day of the general elections not to fall for any of the NPP’s rehearsed tricks to rig the elections.
With an abysmal performance in handling the country’s affairs, he said, the NPP, realizing the anger, disappointment and rejection of the government by Ghanaians, it is bent on using all means to steal the December 7 elections in order to cover up their rots and corrupt practices and continue to rob the state’s fortunes to enrich themselves and their cronies.
In a motivational and cautionary message to them (party agents), Mr. Taylor hinted that the NPP’s last hope for this elections is to employ tricks and stealing to enable them stay in power to continue unleashing hardships on Ghanaians.
One major thing they normally do, he said, the smaller parties do not provide agents because they do not have enough money to pay them. ‘Knowing this, the NPP will let someone come to the Polling Station proffering to be CPP, NDP or GFP agent with a tag around the neck. Since these impersonating agents are originally NPP members, when it comes to decision taking, they always side with the NPP’s agents’, he noted. “They will be the ones who will agree with the NPP that agents should stand far away from the EC Officials issuing the ballot papers”, he stressed.
According to him, these smaller parties usually get five or less votes after close of polls; they do not mind if their results are added to that of the NPP during collation of results because they are fake and pretending to be representing the CPP, NDP or GFP.
These fake agents, he said, will always talk to the NDC party agents to always tone down whenever there is an issue to be resolved. “Please do not listen to them. They are NPP members”, he pleaded.
“My greatest worry is during Collation of Results. These Fake Agents can engage our Party Agents unnecessarily to take away their attention – making it easier for the NPP to connive with the EC Officials to implement their rigging tactical displays”, he lamented.
Fiifi Taylor therefore charged all NDC party agents to be extra vigilant in taking up the mantle to safeguard the ballots and the results of the upcoming general elections because, the lives of all suffering Ghanaians depend on them.
