THE LANDS and Natural Resources Minister, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has announced sweeping reforms aimed at modernising Ghana’s land administration system and reducing the growing number of land disputes.

According to him, regulations to fully implement the Land Act, 2022 (Act 1036), are being finalised with the Attorney-General’s Department and will be presented to Parliament before the end of the year.

Speaking at the Government Accountability Series on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, the Minister disclosed that the Enterprise Land Information System is now operational in nine regions, allowing the public to apply online for official land searches and other land services.

He further revealed that government has secured 67 per cent of the funding required under the Strategic Land Administration Reform Project (SLAP) to improve mapping, digital land services, systematic land titling and the establishment of Customary Land Secretariats.

EMMANUEL ARMAH-KOFI BUAH.

Hon. Buah said government also plans to establish clear boundaries for stool lands and create customary land offices to reduce litigation and improve land management. He added that a new Land Bank initiative would provide investment-ready land for agriculture, particularly oil palm cultivation, and industrial development.
