GHANA’s Minister for Trade and Industry, Hon. Lawyer Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has expressed delight at joining President John Dramani Mahama and other global leaders at the opening of the 8th Africa–Singapore Business Forum (ASBF) in Singapore on Tuesday.
President Mahama, who delivered the keynote address, urged investors to consider Ghana as a strategic gateway to Africa. He emphasized the country’s pivotal role in the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), saying, “Africa is investable, and Ghana is your strategic gateway to the continent.”

He assured global investors of his government’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment. Key among the initiatives mentioned were a Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) with Singapore and the proposed 24-hour economy policy, which aims to align infrastructure, skills, and incentives to support round-the-clock operations across sectors.

Hon. Ofosu-Adjare described it as an honour to represent Ghana alongside the President, adding that the event offered a strong platform to promote Ghana’s readiness for industrial partnerships and deeper South–South cooperation.
