GOVERNMENT has introduced new measures to improve transparency in land administration while significantly increasing revenue from stool lands.
Lands and Natural Resources Minister Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, at the Government Accountability Series, Jubilee House, announced that a standardised Form 5 has been introduced nationwide for all public land applications.
He said market valuation data for state lands has also been published on the Lands Commission’s website to ensure fairness and eliminate arbitrary pricing.
According to the Minister, the reforms are intended to ensure that every applicant pays the same approved price for government land, regardless of influence or personal connections.

Hon. Buah also announced the establishment of a Public Land Protection Task Force, the opening of four new Lands Commission offices and the creation of additional Customary Land Secretariats to improve land records and encourage alternative dispute resolution.
On revenue mobilisation, he revealed that the Office of the Administrator of Stool Lands generated GHS265 million between January and June 2026, representing 75 per cent of its annual target of GHS351 million, describing the achievement as a strong sign of improved efficiency in land administration.
