AS PART of efforts to stabilize food supply within the military, Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah has revealed that government is preparing to settle the GHC275 million debt owed to food suppliers of the Ghana Armed Forces.

According to Dr. Boamah, the Finance Minister has committed to begin payments immediately after Parliament approves the 2025 Budget Appropriation Bill. In the meantime, government will remain current on all ongoing food supply obligations.
“This is not just about clearing old debts – it’s about rebuilding trust in our systems and supporting those who feed our Forces,” Dr. Boamah emphasized.
This commitment forms the second pillar of the Minister’s three-point plan to ensure food security, fiscal responsibility and sustainability in the Armed Forces.
