IN A forward-looking move, Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah has said, government is championing a bold collaboration between the Ghana Armed Forces and the private sector to roll out mechanized agriculture across the country.
This initiative, the third arm of his three-pronged food security strategy, aims to make the Armed Forces more self-reliant by producing much of the food they consume – reducing the burden on the national budget while fighting food inflation.

“We must feed ourselves as much as possible,” Dr. Boamah said. “This is how we protect both our Forces and our economy.”
The plan is expected to create jobs, improve food supply and help transform the Armed Forces into a strategic contributor to national agriculture.
