MUMUNI RUFAI, the Personal Aide to the Executive Secretary of the Hajj Board, Alhaji Hamza Faruk, has been arrested at the Aningazanga JSS Polling Station in the Bolgatanga Central Constituency for alleged ballot stuffing.

Mr. Rufai, who was in a queue to cast his vote, was intercepted by NDC polling agents after they suspected he was carrying foreign materials. A search was carried out, revealing over 100 thumb-printed ballot papers, all marked for NPP’s Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, hidden in his traditional “jallabia” attire.

The discovery prompted the agents to alert the police, leading to Rufai’s immediate arrest. He was subsequently taken to the regional police headquarters for further investigation.

This incident has raised concerns over electoral integrity as both parties intensify their efforts in emerging victorious in the ongoing elections.
