AKO GUNN WRITES: ONE DAY AN ELEPHANT  WILL HIDE IN A HEN COOP

WHAT GOD has blessed all  of us with, are times and seasons. There is a time for change and a time for continuity. There is a time for accountability and a  time to recover all loot. There is a time to weep and a time to smile. There is a  time for “do you know who I am,” and a time for “I am ashimashi, deal kindly with me.”

I get worried when man forgets this simple fact of life.

Sometimes, mortals speak like ‘gods’ and presume there is no expiry date to their positions and portfolios. Can you imagine that the Food and Drugs Authority can change expiry dates on rice, but not life?

I have worked closely with people who, hitherto, I could only see on TV or listen to on the radio. I could only admire them from afar. Time changes!! Times and opportunities are for us all. Always be grateful to the people who elevate you or send you to places. You could not have been there by yourself.

What did we do with the opportunities we got, and to others, I will ask, what will we do with the opportunities ahead of us? History, they say, repeats itself, and I know it will either get us smiling or wailing. For those waiting to take over, remember where your opponents fell.

Welcome to December. I know a heart will miss a beat for fear, while another will leap for joy. It depends on where you stand. A December to remember. How have you prepared for the inevitable? Entry or exit? We knew this day would come, but we didn’t anticipate it coming this soon.

LIFE !!! I have seen people running from their former colleagues, unable to attend church again, and also unable to sit at the old spot. Running and running away, but you can not run away from yourself. At this point, you will be correcting your ‘errors’ in your own mind.

PROF. JEAN NAANA OPOKU-AGYEMAN, NDC RUNNING MATE AND SOON TOBE FIRST FEMALE VICE-PRESIDENT  OF THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA.

To err is human and to forgive is divine. This statement was true then and is true now. But it is warped knowledge when it causes the elephant to hide its huge size in a hen coop, and it believes it is hidden.

Make the best out of every situation you find yourself in because the die is cast. Those who are winning are whipping the horse to the finishing line. Those who are losing are waiting for signs and wonders.

What politicians fail to learn is that power is transient. Always lend a helping hand, share a smile, give a hug, and be there when it matters.

THE AUTHOR: GODWIN AKO GUNN, NDC DEPUTY NATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER.

Whatever side you find yourself on, the next month will be a new year, and life must go on. Keep watching your lane. There are better days ahead for some, and for others, there are sour days ahead for weeping and gnashing of teeth.
