GREAT AKWAMUSEC: A BEACON OF EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION

GREAT AKWAMUSEC, otherwise known as Akwamuman Senior High School, is one of Ghana’s most celebrated secondary schools. Located in the serene and historic town of Atimpoku near Akosombo in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region. The school has carved a niche for itself as a centre of academic brilliance, discipline, and cultural pride. Since its establishment in 1969, Great Akwamusec has been a cornerstone of education in the Akwamu Traditional Area and beyond.

HISTORY AND FOUNDING: Great Akwamusec was established to meet the growing demand for secondary education in the Akwamu area. The school’s foundation symbolizes the unity and foresight of the Akwamu Traditional Council and the community. Over the years, it has grown from a small community school into a reputable institution with a legacy of producing outstanding individuals who have significantly contributed to Ghana’s development.

Home Economics

Visual Arts

Technical Programmes;

The dedication of the school’s teaching staff, combined with the students’ hard work, has consistently resulted in excellent performances in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
