The J.E.A. Mills Memorial Heritage has announced activities to commemorate the tenth (10th) anniversary of the demise of President Professor John Evans Fiifi Atta-Mills in Accra.
According to the Chairman of J.E.A. Mills Memorial Herital, Alex Percival Segebefia, the tenth (10th) anniversary falls on Saturday, July 24, 2022.
Mr. Segbefia explained that the activities which started with media engagement over the week, would be followed up with a statement that will be delivered on the floor of Ghana’s Parliament by the Minority Caucus on Thursday, July 21, 2022.
The statement will be read by the younger brother of the late Prof. President, Sam Atta-Mills, Hon Member of Parliament (MP) for KEEA Constituency in the Central Region, to Commemorate the tenth anniversary of the demise of President Prof. John Evans Fiifi Atta-Mills.
Mr. Segbefia further indicated that as part of the activities, the Memorial Heritage will pay a courtesy call to the National Chief Imam, Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubuktu in Accra. And Moslem prayers will be held in remembrance of the late President Atta-Mills on Friday, July 22, 2022 at all designated Mosques across the country.
Some of these designated Mosques include the National Mosque, at Kanda near Kawukudi; Ahmediyya Mosque, Labone, amongst many others.
The Memorial Heritage Chairman also hinted that on Saturday, 23rd July, 2022, the President JEA Mills Memorial Hockey Tournament will be played at the Ghana National Hockey Pitch in Accra.
Atta-Mills’ former playing mates in the both Ghana National Hockey Team and other places would be seeing in Jerseys to play. This game is expected to start at after 8 am, in Accra.
July 24, 2022, at 1pm, the 10th anniversary wreath laying ceremony and memorial service for the late President Atta-Mills will be held at the Asomdwe party between Osu Castle and Independence Square, Accra.
