
POLICE OFFICERS stationed at the Electoral Commission’s (EC) Greater Accra Regional Office have expressed frustration over prolonged delays in the announcement of election results.
The officers, who have been on duty for over a week, say they are exhausted and baffled by the slow pace of the process.
Speaking anonymously, some officers questioned why the EC, with all its resources, has struggled to finalize and announce the results, especially when even political parties with little resources and gadgets appear to have completed their collation immediately after the polls.


“Why are we still here? What is holding up the results since yesterday?” one officer lamented.
The delay has raised concerns and heightened tensions among political party supporters and security personnel Civil Society Organizations and the general public, with many calling on the EC to expedite the collation process and ensure transparency.

The situation has added to the growing unrest surrounding the election, with stakeholders urging the EC to act swiftly to restore confidence in the process.
