THE POLITICALLY witch-hunted Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dr. Benjamin Kwesi Agordzo (rtd) has revealed that the Ghana Police Service has turned into an institution that rather instigates the imprisonment of innocent people.
According to ACP Dr. Kwesi Agordzo (rtd), he has been the targeted Assistant Commissioner since 2007/8, and this continued immediately the New Patriotic Party (NPP) took over power in 2017 for no apparent reasons.

Speaking to the media on the sideline of his book launch entitled, “From Persecution to Freedom”, he explained that someone occastrated the coup plot allegation against him (ACP) to become relevant in the Ghana security architecture.
He further disclosed that there are lots of illegalities ongoing at the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) which now metamophose into National Investigation Bureau (NIB).
ACP Dr Kwesi Agordzo explained that these illegalities at NIB were always deliberate attempts to incriminate innocent accused persons at all cost to have them imprisoned for committing no crime.

He said it was high time the world knows whether there was really any coup attempt against the state by him and other accused persons or not. Hence the need to publish the book, entitled; From Persecution to Freedom, launched in Accra; which captured every bit and pieces of what went on, is and are going on in the country’s security architecture and Judiciary.
In a related issue, the retired ACP further indicated that Ghanaians must also be made aware that some judges appear uncomfortable when someone is left of the hook. He said some of these judges do not want to deliver justice so easily when there is the need for that.
Dr. Kwesi Agordzo explained that there were too many people jailed for crimes they have not committed. He stressed that the justice system in Ghana is at times conspired with to jail innocent Ghanaians.

He cited himself, and said but for God he would have been jailed; ACP Agordzo explained that he managed to escape this deliberately occastrated alleged coup against him also because of his background as an experienced investigator for 32 years in the Ghana Police Service.
“….I could have been jailed for a coup plot I virtually know nothing about, and Ghanaians will say yes I was part”, he lamented.
ACP Dr. Agordzo told the media that he was shocked when the judges asked him to open his defence when the facts in their custody were unambiguous that they could have freed him immediately.

“The records before the judges were not incriminating me of aiding and abetting; yet they insisted that I opened my defence, this was the most unusual thing I saw in our justice system here in Ghana”, it saddened him.
Adding, the internationally recognised ACP Dr. Kwesi Agordzo pointed out that in the judgement, everything the judges said were records already in their custody before they pushed him to open his defence.
