An Eastern Regional youth group dabbed “Action Youth Movement, AYM” has bemoaned that the appointment of COP. Maamie Yaa Tiwa Addo-Danquah to the Economic and Organise Crime Office (EOCO) is rather an organised strategy for her to do hachette jobs.

Courage Kwame Gbeve, Communications Officer for ACTION YOUTH MOVEMENT, AYM, Based in the Eastern Region.

EOCO is a competent agency established to address critical national security and public health challenges. These include Organized crime activities, official Institutional bribery and corruption among others. It therefore requires honest people with very good track records.

According to the AYM, the Nana Akufo-Addo led NPP government deliberately sent her to EOCO for her to continue covering up the corruption cases involving the President himself, his appointees and cronies.

In a statement issued by the Communications officer of AYM, Courage Kwame Gbeve indicated that the NPP government led by President Akufo-Addo is not prepared to do away with corruption anytime soon, hence appointing his cohorts into sensitive positions such as EOCO for cover ups.

Mr. Kwame Gbeve argued that the report by COP. (Mrs) Tiwaa Addo-Danquah as EOCO Boss, that clears Nana Appiah Mensah aka NAM 1, CEO for Menzgold of corruption case is very scary.

He cited that when Mrs. Tiwaa Addo-Danquah was appointed by President Akufo-Addo as the CID Boss, she had done lots of cover up deals for the government including a case involving the 3 kidnapped Takoradi teenagers.

These 3 kidnapped teenagers were announced dead prior to the 2020 elections, after months of continues false hopes she gave to their families and Ghanaians who were keenly following day-to-day reports on them.

The AYM statement prayed fervently that, “May the souls of these children rest in peace”.

To President Akufo-Addo, Madam Tiwaa Addo has performed well as the country’s CID Boss, and re-appointed her as the EOCO boss to continue with the cover up corrupt deals the government will continue to engage in, the statement bemoaned.

Mr. Kwame Gbeve was not surprised that Madam Tiwaa Addo-Danquah has the courage to report that Nana Appiah Mensah aka NAM 1, CEO of Menzgold has not committed any crime of which his (NAM 1) customers who have lost thousands of Ghana cedis accused him of.

According to Mr. Kwame Gbeve, clearing of NAM 1of all the allegations of dupping people of their huge sums of money which caused sudden death of some of the victims whilst others are suffering from various ailments due to the lock up of their money is a worrying issue.

NAM 1 ran an institution which deals in gold and funds which was opened to the general public to make cash savings and make huge profits.

The NPP government deliberately collapsed the institution with an accusation that the CEO was running a scam institution.

Mr. Kwame Gbeve further asserted that the declaration by this EOCO boss, Maamie Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah that NAM 1 is clared of all the allegations against him, made them (AYM) to believe that, her appointment was a calculated one to kill and cover all corrupt cases before the NPP government handover power in 2025.

“She can’t find any relevant laws to prosecute corrupt cases involving current government officials and its cronies; so her relevance of being in that office will rather affect the state as she can’t prosecute NAM 1 or any NPP sympathiser”, AYM lamented.
