A Youth pressure group dubbed “ARISE GHANA; SAVE GHANA NOW”, has called on President Akufo-Addo to ensure the country’s Finance Minister is sacked and arrested immediately.

PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO SHOWING THE FACE OF GHANA’S ECONOMY.

Arise Ghana explained that Ghanaians are going through this excruciating hardship because of the mismanagement of the economy by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta.

They posited that Ken Ofori Atta was rather interested in enriching himself and his companies – Data Bank, Enterprise Insurance amongst others from contracting huge and more loans for Ghana and nothing came out from all these loans which is over Ghc 300 billion within close six years; but the economy gets messed up.

THE EVIL HEARTED GHANA’S FINANCE MINISTER, KEN OFORI ATTA.

This and many other reasons the Arise Ghana is calling on the President to arrest the Finance Minister. Currently the Finance Minister is going through medical check up in America, to this, they prayed fervently for God to protect and hold him intact to come and answer questions on numerous loans he took and the use those loans were put into.

They also called on the Members of Parliament to seat up and pass vote of no confidence in this wicked Funance Minister for him to leave Ghanaians alone.

BENARD MONAH LED MEMBERS OF ARISE GHANA PRESS BRIEFING IN ACCRA.

At a press briefing on Thursday, August 18, 2022 in Accra, the ARISE Ghana Pressure Group hinted that the current worst economic situation in the country is a serious threat to national security.

In addition to this worse economic crisis where about 25 out of 30 million people are struggling to live from hand to mouth, the NPP government finds it comfortable to increase tariffs and demanding that this poor people pay at all cost.

This further annoyed Arise Ghana youth group and issued a 48-hour ultimatum for the Nana Akufo-Addo led NPP administration to immediately suspend this utility tariff increment.

The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) on Monday announced a 27.15 percent increase in tariffs for electricity and 21.55 percent increase in water tariffs effective September 1, 2022.

Addressing the media, a leading member of the group, Bernard Mornah said Ghanaians are already bearing the brunt of the economic hardship in the country; hence the increment in tariffs will further worsen it.

Members of Arise Ghana indicated that,
“one of the key things any rational government will do in trying to resolve the current economic crisis will be to find innovative ways of shoving up domestic revenue generation.”

A straight-jacket increment in utility tariffs would not cut it. It would rather be a disincentive to consumers. Consumers would default and this would plunge the country deeper into the debt crisis,” Mr. Mornah said.

A member of the group, Mr. Mensah Thompson has also taken a serious swipe the Minister of Finance, Mr. Ken Ofori Atta for what he described as gross incompetence of the management of economy.
