THE MEMBER of Parliament for Nkwanta North, Hon. John Oti Bless, has commissioned a 3-unit classroom block at Lakpor and a health facility at Kofi Akura to improve access to education and healthcare in the district.

The projects form part of the MP’s broader intervention to address pressing needs in education and health in the area.
The new 3-unit classroom block at Lakpor is designated for Junior High School (JHS) pupils. According to Hon. Oti Bless, the facility will provide a conducive learning environment and help ease the educational challenges facing the community.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the MP stressed that education remains the cornerstone of community development.

The Nkwanta North District Director of Education, Mr. Dickson Bansa, commended the MP for the intervention, noting that the new block will improve quality and access to education.
He however raised concern over the huge infrastructure deficit in the district, disclosing that 58 Kindergarten (KG) schools in Nkwanta North still hold classes under trees.
He appealed to philanthropists, NGOs and government to support the district with more educational infrastructure to help reduce the number of out-of-school children.

At Kofi Akura, Hon. Oti Bless also commissioned a new health facility to bring healthcare closer to residents. “Health is a priority for every human being,” the MP stated, adding that access to quality healthcare is key to community welfare.

The District Coordinator of Health, Mr. Livingstone Kwame Dravie, expressed appreciation to the MP, saying the facility will save lives and raise health standards in the area.
At the ceremony, Hon. Oti Bless challenged the previous NPP administration to show its development record in Nkwanta North, noting that more needs to be done to bridge the gap.

He said his vision is to see a brighter future for Nkwanta North, where no child learns under trees and healthcare is accessible to all.
He urged parents to prioritize their children’s education and called for concerted efforts from government, NGOs and stakeholders to sustain development in the district.
