AFRICA Macro Intelligence (AMI) has launched a West Africa Book Donation Tour to promote economic education and encourage young Africans to take a deeper interest in the continent’s economic future.

The initiative will take Lord Fiifi Quayle’s book, Pricing Uncertainty: Black–Scholes, Risk, and the Future of African Finance, to secondary schools and universities in Togo, Benin and Nigeria.

The tour, which begins in Togo before moving to Benin and Nigeria, will combine book donations with lectures, student engagements, economic discussions and interactions with academics and young professionals.

Lord Fiifi Quayle, Founder and Chief Analyst of AMI and author of the book, will lead the engagements during the tour.

He said the initiative was not only about distributing his book but also about creating opportunities for young Africans to engage with serious economic ideas and question the assumptions that influence their societies.

“The purpose is bigger than the book. We want African ideas to travel,” Lord Quayle said. He added that young Africans must be encouraged to develop their own ideas and play an active role in shaping the continent’s economic future.

As part of the programme, AMI will also document the views of students in the three countries under its West Africa Student Economic Perspectives initiative.

The findings are expected to form part of a future AMI publication examining how young Africans view the major economic risks and opportunities facing the continent.

AMI said the tour forms part of its broader commitment to strengthening Africa’s intellectual capacity and promoting critical thinking among the younger generation.
