IN A passionate appeal to the grassroots, Dr. Akwasi Opong-Fosu has called on members and faithful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to actively safeguard the legacy of President John Dramani Mahama.

He emphasized that the President has worked tirelessly to restore and protect the image of Ghana on the international stage.
Speaking to party supporters, Dr. Opong-Fosu highlighted the significant strides made by the current administration, framing the NDC’s time in office as a period of restoration and hope.
Dr. Opong-Fosu painted a vivid picture of Ghana’s current trajectory, describing the nation under the NDC as a “country of possibilities.”
He argued that the government’s policies have opened new doors for Ghanaians, fostering an environment where dreams can be realized and prosperity is achievable.

According to him, President Mahama has done a lot to protect the image of the country, ensuring that Ghana remains a beacon of democracy and stability in West Africa.
He noted that this positive international perception is crucial for attracting investment and fostering development.

Central to Dr. Opong-Fosu’s argument was the economic narrative of the transition of power. He stated unequivocally that the NDC government took over an economy that was “strangling” under the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
He reiterated that the NDC has been the architect of Ghana’s economic recovery, implementing policies designed to breathe life back into a suffocated economy.
By taking over at a critical juncture, the NDC government has positioned Ghana for sustainable growth, contrary to the mismanagement experienced under the NPP.

He urged party faithfuls to remain vigilant and dedicated, stressing that protecting President Mahama’s legacy is a collective responsibility.
He called on supporters to be ambassadors of the party’s achievements and to defend the truth about the government’s performance against what he described as misinformation.
The call to action serves as a rallying cry for the NDC base, reminding them that the progress made so far is worth fighting for as the nation looks toward the future.
