THE MEMBER of Parliament for Krachi East, Nelson Kofi Djabab, has announced a reward for anyone who provides credible information leading to the arrest of a man accused of impersonating him and allegedly defrauding members of the public.
Mr. Djabab made the announcement during a telephone interview with Madam Antoinette Agorsah, a presenter with Oti FM, following reports that one Mr. Tala Emmanuel had allegedly been using the MP’s name and office to promise recruitment into the security services in exchange for money.
According to information available, the suspect allegedly collected GH¢10,000 each from two individuals, GH¢8,000 from another victim, and GH¢4,000 from a fourth person, claiming he could secure them employment in a security agency.
Mr. Djabab strongly denied having any connection with the alleged recruitment scheme and described the activities as fraudulent and intended to tarnish his image.
“I have absolutely no involvement in these alleged recruitment arrangements. Anyone using my name to collect money from people is engaging in illegal activity and should be reported to the police immediately,” he stated.
The MP expressed concern that the actions of the alleged impersonator were not only causing financial loss to unsuspecting victims but also damaging the reputation and integrity of his office.

He therefore urged residents of Krachi East and the general public to be vigilant and to verify any employment or recruitment offers through the appropriate official channels before making any payment.
Mr. Djabab also called on the Ghana Police Service to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure that the suspect is brought to justice.
“I appeal to anyone with information about the whereabouts of Mr. Tala Emmanuel to assist the police. Any constituent whose information leads to his arrest will receive a handsome reward,” he added.
The Ghana Police Service has repeatedly cautioned the public against paying money to individuals who claim they can secure jobs or recruitment opportunities in the security services. The Service maintains that official recruitment processes are transparent and do not require payments to middlemen or agents.
