THE DISTRICT Chief Executive for South Tongu District, Hon. Victoria Dzeklo, together with the Member of Parliament for the area, Maxwell Kwame Lukutor, has officially handed over project sites for the construction of major educational facilities in three senior high schools in the district.
The beneficiary schools are Comboni Senior High Technical School, St. Catherine Senior High School and Dabala Senior High School. The projects, being undertaken on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama and the Government of Ghana, are expected to improve teaching, learning and boarding conditions in the schools.
The initiative includes the construction of modern classroom blocks, dormitories, assembly halls, dining halls and kitchens. At Comboni Senior High Technical School, the project will include a two-storey 12-unit classroom block, a dormitory block and staff accommodation.

St. Catherine Senior High School will receive an assembly hall complex, classroom block and dormitory, while Dabala Senior High School will benefit from a new assembly hall, dining hall and kitchen facilities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Victoria Dzeklo thanked President Mahama and the Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, for supporting the development projects in the district.
She directed contractors to ensure that sewage systems are not connected to the River Volta to protect communities that rely on the river for domestic use. She also stressed the need for dedicated changing rooms for female students and warned against delays, theft of building materials and misconduct by workers on the project sites.

Hon. Maxwell Kwame Lukutor described the projects as the fulfilment of promises made to the people of South Tongu. He assured residents that the projects would be closely monitored to ensure quality work and value for money.
Traditional leaders, education officials, assembly members, consultants and community stakeholders attended the event.
