AFTER years of waiting, help finally came, not from government, but from the Nkorsohene (Development Chief) of the Nankwtewa Traditional Area, Mustapha Meshark.
Speaking during a visit to the community, the Development Chief said his intervention was to bring relief to a community that has been ignored for too long, despite its importance in cocoa production.
He mobilized support to supply gravel and temporarily fix parts of the damaged road, making movement easier for farmers, students, and traders.
According to him, more than three culverts along the road were built but never properly completed, turning the area into a nightmare whenever it rains. Students struggle to get to school, farmers can’t transport produce, and traders lose income.
While praising recent national infrastructure efforts, he called on the Roads Ministry and other stakeholders to urgently focus on Adedease-Asougya, even if only to make the road motorable for now.
Residents hope this bold intervention by the traditional authority will finally push government to act and end decades of neglect.
