FOR NEARLY 16 years, residents of Adedease-Asougya in the Sunyani East Municipality have lived with an abandoned culvert bridge that continues to cause flooding and poor road conditions.
The culvert project started around 2001 during the time of late MP J.H. Mensah under the NPP government, but it was never completed. Since then, successive NPP MPs have failed to fix it, despite repeated complaints from the community.
Following these neglect, the original road linking Adedease-Asougya has become unusable. Residents now rely on a dangerous alternative route, especially risky during the rainy season.

Locals say the unfinished culvert has damaged lives and property, cut off easy access, and slowed down economic activities in this largely farming community. Many see the situation as a clear example of broken political promises and long-term neglect.
