FORMER Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Lawyer Dr. Inusah Fuseini, has urged delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Buem Constituency of the Oti Region to elect national executives who will protect the party’s dignity, uphold its values and work towards victory in the 2028 general elections.
He specifically endorsed Dr. Akwasi Opong-Fosu, a contender for the party’s national chairmanship, describing him as a committed party member with the financial strength, leadership experience and personal qualities needed to lead the NDC.
Speaking to party faithful, Dr. Fuseini stressed the need for principled, selfless and dedicated leaders who would put the interests of the party above personal ambitions.

Dr. Fuseini Endorses Opong-Fosu;
Explaining his support for Dr. Opong-Fosu, the former MP noted that the chairmanship aspirant had been a consistent financial supporter of the NDC over the years.
He expressed confidence that Dr. Opong-Fosu possessed the leadership capacity and commitment required to unite the party, strengthen its structures and lead it towards another electoral victory in 2028.
Dr. Fuseini believes that the NDC needs a national chairman who understands the demands of party leadership and is prepared to make the necessary sacrifices to keep the party strong.
Opong-Fosu Calls for Selfless Leadership;
Addressing the delegates, Dr. Akwasi Opong-Fosu urged them to elect leaders based on their track records of sacrifice, commitment and service to the party rather than personal interests.

“Choose a leader who has sacrificed for the party, not people who choose their own interests,” he advised.
He reminded the delegates that the NDC was founded on the principles of service and commitment to the people, adding that those seeking leadership positions must demonstrate these values through their actions.
Vision for Stronger Constituencies
Dr. Opong-Fosu also outlined his vision for strengthening the party across all constituencies, stressing the need to empower grassroots members and ensure that every constituency has a voice in national decision-making.
His vision centres on promoting unity among party members, encouraging selfless leadership and building sustainable support systems that will benefit all constituencies rather than a select few.
He believes that a stronger grassroots base, supported by inclusive leadership and effective party structures, will better position the NDC for the 2028 general elections.

The choice of national executives is expected to play an important role in determining the party’s direction and preparedness for the next general elections.
Dr. Fuseini’s endorsement adds to Dr. Opong-Fosu’s campaign as he seeks to convince delegates that he has the experience, commitment and leadership qualities to serve as the NDC’s next National Chairman.
For the Buem delegates and the wider NDC membership, the message from the two party figures is clear: the party’s future leadership must be built on sacrifice, integrity, unity and service.
Dr. Akwasi Opong-Fosu is a national chairmanship aspirant of the NDC and a long-standing financial supporter of the party.
