THE NDC-USA Zango Caucus has extended warm congratulations to His Excellency Victor Emmanuel Smith on his appointment as Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States.
In welcoming the news, Alhaji Abdul-Salaam Zeebah, Zango Caucus Coordinator described the decision as a step in the right direction for Ghana’s diplomacy and international relations.
In a statement issued in the U.S., the Caucus praised the appointment by President John Dramani Mahama, citing Mr. Smith’s longstanding experience in diplomacy and public service.

They expressed confidence that his presence in Washington, D.C., will help deepen Ghana-U.S. relations and create new opportunities for Ghana’s development and foreign cooperation.
“Ambassador Victor Smith brings with him a wealth of experience, having served in various diplomatic and government roles, including as Ghana’s former Ambassador to the Czech Republic and former Director of Public Affairs at the Office of the President.

His leadership will undoubtedly help strengthen bilateral ties and promote the interests of Ghanaians abroad,” the statement said.
The Caucus added that they are optimistic the new ambassador will also engage the Ghanaian diaspora in the U.S., particularly the Zango and Muslim communities, to foster national unity and development partnerships.
Coordinator Alhaji Zeebah further pledged their support to the ambassador in his new role and encouraged all Ghanaians in the diaspora to rally behind him as he works to project Ghana’s image positively on the global stage.

Ambassador Smith’s appointment is seen by many as a strategic diplomatic move by the Mahama-led NDC administration to bolster international engagement, attract investment, and protect the welfare of Ghanaians living abroad.
