HON. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey of the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has called on citizens to speak up against human trafficking, describing it as a growing threat to national safety and dignity.
“If you see something, say something,” she urged, during her keynote address at the 2025 World Day Against Human Trafficking (Blue Day) held in Accra on July 30.

She also conveyed warm greetings from President John Dramani Mahama and emphasized the government’s ongoing commitment to human rights and child protection.
This year’s theme, “Leave No One Behind: Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges,” encourages stronger collaboration and greater support for victims of trafficking.
Marking 20 years since the passage of the Human Trafficking Act (Act 694), Dr. Lartey noted that Ghana continues to be affected—as a source, transit, and destination country for trafficking. She called for renewed efforts to fight the crime and ensure justice for victims.
