THE PILGRIMS Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has announced GH¢60,000 as the official fare for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage, maintaining the same fare charged for the 2026 pilgrimage.
In a press release dated August 12, 2026, PAOG said payment for the 2027 Hajj has commenced with immediate effect and urged prospective pilgrims to register and make their payments early.
The Office said registration would be on a first-come, first-served basis and would close once Ghana’s allocated quota for the 2027 Hajj is exhausted.
PAOG Chairman, Hon. Alhaji Abdul-Rauf Tanko Ibrahim, advised prospective pilgrims to pay their fares and submit all required documents early to avoid last-minute difficulties.
The Office has also approved only two channels for payment. Pilgrims can make payments through accredited Hajj agents using the official PAOG payment code or directly into PAOG’s official accounts with GCB Bank.
PAOG cautioned the public against making payments to unaccredited agents, intermediaries or individuals outside the approved channels.
It stressed that it would not be responsible for payments made through unauthorised channels, urging prospective pilgrims to be vigilant to avoid falling victim to fraud.
The Office said the measures were part of efforts to ensure a safe, transparent and successful Hajj for all Ghanaian pilgrims.
