
THE GHANA Free Zones Authority (GFZA) actively participated in the launch of the 2025 World Cooperation Industries (WCI) Ghana Forum, held on Wednesday, 28th May 2025, at the Marriott Hotel in Accra.
The event, organized by the Office of the Commercial Counsellor of the Turkish Embassy, brought together government agencies, trade and investment stakeholders, the private sector, and over 50 Turkish companies exploring investment opportunities in Ghana.

Delivering the keynote address on behalf of GFZA’s Chief Executive Officer, Deputy CEO in charge of Operations, Mr. Lateef Apau Wiredu highlighted the strong bilateral ties between Ghana and Türkiye.
He stressed on GFZA’s commitment to promoting export-oriented investments through a competitive incentive regime that includes tax holidays and duty exemptions.
Mr. Wiredu also noted the current absence of Turkish enterprises in Ghana’s Free Zones and encouraged Turkish businesses to capitalize on Ghana’s strategic location and its access to the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Other notable speakers at the event included the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament and MP for Akatsi South, Hon. Bernard Ahiafor; President of WCI, Mr. Utku Bengisu; Deputy CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Mr. Abdul Razak Baba; Deputy CEO of the Ghana Enterprises Agency, Mr. Iddrisu D. Mahmoud and Chairman of the Association of Ghana Industries Construction Sector, Mr. Rockson Dogbegah.


The GFZA utilized the forum to engage with export-oriented businesses, particularly Turkish companies, promoting the Free Zones concept through networking and B2B sessions.
The Authority also engaged with stakeholders to foster partnerships aimed at supporting mutual economic growth and shared prosperity.
