THE GHANA Free Zones Authority (GFZA) is seeking to deepen its partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry France Ghana (CCIFG) to attract more French investment into Ghana and expand the country’s export-oriented industrial sector.
The move follows a courtesy visit by the newly elected Board of Directors of the CCIFG to the GFZA on Monday, August 31, 2026.

Receiving the delegation, the Chief Executive Officer of the GFZA, Dr. Mary Awusi, said the engagement was an important opportunity to strengthen the longstanding relationship between the two institutions and identify new areas of cooperation.

She stressed the importance of building on the strong bilateral relations between Ghana and France to promote greater economic and commercial cooperation.
Dr. Awusi also highlighted the growing interest of French businesses in Ghana, pointing to the opportunities available under the Ghana Free Zones Scheme for French companies seeking to establish or expand export-oriented operations in the country.
As part of the engagement, the Director of Marketing and Investment Promotion at the GFZA, Ms. Anita Novi Quashie, made a presentation on the Ghana Free Zones Scheme.
The presentation highlighted the contribution of French investments to the Free Zones sector and outlined opportunities for increased French participation in Ghana’s export-oriented industrial development.
The discussions also focused on investment opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), collaboration among investment promotion agencies, institutional support for investors, as well as logistics and trade-related challenges facing French exporters serving African markets.
The Director of Corporate Affairs, PR and Aftercare, Dr. Mrs. Patience Agbleze Acorlor, and the Director of Business Development and Research, Mr. Lawrence Osei-Boateng, provided further insights into the treatment of goods exported from Ghana into the ECOWAS Customs Union.

They also explained the progressive removal of tariffs under the AfCFTA framework and how Ghana-based businesses could take advantage of the expanding African market.
The engagement is expected to strengthen efforts to make Ghana an increasingly attractive destination for French investors, particularly businesses interested in using the country as a base for accessing the wider African market.

The GFZA and CCIFG reaffirmed their commitment to facilitating investment, expanding trade and supporting industrial development while creating more opportunities for French businesses to participate in Ghana’s export-oriented economy.
The CCIFG delegation was led by its President, Mr. Guillaume Valence, and included the Vice-President, Mr. Adedamola Adelabu; Treasurer, Ms. Catherine Johnson; Vice-Treasurer, Mr. Jean-Paul Nassar; Ex-Officio Member, Mr. Julien Frioux; and Managing Director, Ms. Maxine Reindorf-Partey.
The meeting was also attended by Directors, Heads of Departments and other officers of the Ghana Free Zones Authority.
