IN A HEARTWARMING gesture ahead of this year’s Edul – fìtr, the Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon and Deputy Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Rita Odoley Sowah, has donated food items worth thousands of Ghana Cedis to Muslim communities within her constituency.
The donation, which has become an annual tradition for the MP, aims to foster peaceful coexistence, promote religious tolerance and support the welfare of constituents during the holy month.

As part of her personal commitment to supporting recognized groups and organizations in the area, Hon. Naa Odoley Sowah visited several mosques including the La Mother Mosque, Kojo Sardine Mosque, Cantonments Police Mosque, Burma Camp and the Flagstaff House Quarters Mosque, where she distributed the items.
During her visits, she urged the Muslim faithful to continue praying for the nation and for the President, asking for divine wisdom and knowledge to help fulfill promises made to Ghanaians.

She also commended the Muslim community for their consistent embrace of peace and harmony over the years.
Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is a sacred period marked by fasting from dawn to sunset, prayer, reflection and acts of community. It is one of the five pillars of Islam, with spiritual rewards believed to be greatly multiplied during the month.
The MP’s gesture was warmly received and praised by community members, who expressed their gratitude for her continued support and dedication to interfaith unity.
