THE OVERSEER of the Perez Chapel International, Archbishop Dr. Agyinasare has taken a swipe at the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana and charged the Commission to restore the Inter-Party Advisory Committee’s (IPAC’s) formerly revered glory.
He noted that the current Electoral Commissioners led by Jean Adukwei Mensah has drifted way from the known transparency and functions of the renowned IPAC which used to be strong due to its recognition and respect it used to command from beyond the borders of Ghana under the previous Commissioners led by Dr. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan and Mrs. Charlotte Osei.
Madam Adukwei Mensah who was appointed by President Akufo-Addo for some strange reasons, came to mess up the IPAC which lost the noted transparency, lack of regard for other workable views, and ends up introducing ambiguous measures without respect for other political parties.
These her actions and attitudes reflected in the last general elections held in Ghana where no one could still tell which of the about seven election results she used in declaring the ruling NPP led by President Akufo-Addo, her appointor, as the winner of the 2020 general elections.
The Archbishop who has been following politics of Ghana keenly, made the call during the Thanksgiving Service of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the Dzorwulu Junction Headquarters of Perez Chapel International in Accra over the weekend, advised Jean Adukwei Mensah to revert to restore the previous GLORY of the IPAC under her predecessors.
The respected Archbishop indicated that with proper IPAC such as the previous ones, in place the needed transparency would show for every Ghanaian to see and the country would not fall apart; especially if she followed up with good human relations with acceptable actions as a neutral Electoral Commission (EC) Boss.
Archbishop Dr. Agyinasare of Perez Chapel International also called on the security agencies in the country not allow themselves to be used by the politicians to perpetrate heneous crimes on the citizenry.
In the 2020 general elections President Akufo-Addo allowed some Armed Military and Police men to gun down over eight (8) innocent citizens most of whom were very young people who were trying to help stop election rigging by the governing NPP at Techiman in the Bono East Region, where he (President) took advantage to supposedly win the election.
Till date President Akufo-Addo could not make any statement to express regret or even a condolence to the families of the deceased persons.
