FORMER Member of Parliament for Afram Plains North, Hon. Betty Nana Efua Krosbi Mensah, has formally declared her intention to contest the National Women’s Organiser position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The former MP, who previously served as Technical Advisor to the Minister of Sports and Recreation and later as National Coordinator for Recreation and Wellness, said her decision followed months of consultations with political mentors, gender activists, party elders, women’s groups, and constituency and branch executives across all 16 regions.
Speaking to GHOne TV and Adom FM, she said she was bringing fresh energy, enthusiasm and a renewed vision to the women’s wing of the party.
“For the past two months, I have had a lot of consultations about my background and how firmly I have stood over the years as a gender advocate. I am bringing on board enthusiasm and energy. Come December 2026, I will be contesting to be elected as the National Women’s Organiser of the NDC,” she said.
In a subsequent statement in August 2026, Madam Krosbi Mensah described women as the backbone of the NDC and outlined her vision to build a united, inclusive and stronger women’s wing.
Her vision focuses on effective mobilisation, capacity building, recognition of women’s contributions and economic empowerment programmes.
In line with NDC guidelines, she has resigned from her government position to concentrate on her campaign for the national women’s organiser position.
