THE PILGRIMS Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has intensified luggage checks for Ghanaian pilgrims preparing to return home from Saudi Arabia as the Hajj pilgrimage draws to a close.
According to the PAOG Communications Directorate, the seventh return flight to Tamale is expected to depart from Jeddah in the early hours of Thursday, June 18, 2026,Hbased on operational conditions.

PAOG says the enhanced luggage screening measures are aimed at ensuring compliance with airline regulations and preventing delays and inconveniences experienced by some pilgrims on earlier flights.
Head of Communications at PAOG, Mohammed Amin Hussein Lamptey, disclosed that officers have been deployed to weigh pilgrims’ luggage on the spot before departure. He noted that the exercise is intended to help pilgrims avoid last-minute challenges at the airport.

Meanwhile, documentation and luggage processing for Accra-bound Flights 1, 2 and 3 have been completed. The checked luggage has already been transported to the King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah for onward shipment to Ghana.
PAOG assured pilgrims that departure schedules for the Accra flights will be communicated in due course.
Photos from the exercise show members of the PAOG Taskforce, clad in orange reflective vests, working alongside AIRGATE personnel in red shirts through the night to ensure a smooth and orderly departure process.


PAOG expressed gratitude to Allah for the successful progress made so far in the return journey of Ghanaian pilgrims.
