THE MEMBER of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe (Obaanaa), has paid a courtesy visit to a former District Police Commander in the Upper West Region, reiterating her commitment to national unity, public service and the preservation of enduring professional relationships beyond constituency lines.

Accompanied by the former MP for Amenfi Central, Hon. George Kofi Arthur, Hon. Gyan Cudjoe travelled to Gwollu to visit Mr. Selby, a highly respected former District Police Commander who once served the Amenfi Central District.

The journey, which spanned nearly 24 hours, was described as both arduous and deeply rewarding, symbolising the strength of bonds forged through years of dedicated public service.
Reflecting on the purpose of the visit, Hon. Gyan Cudjoe noted that the gesture went beyond personal goodwill and represented the core values of appreciation, continuity, and unity in leadership.

“This journey reflects the strong bonds we share and our commitment to honouring those who have served our communities diligently. It is a reminder that service to Ghana transcends geography and political office,” she stated.

During the visit, the delegation engaged Mr. Selby in insightful discussions on national security, public safety, and Ghana’s broader development agenda. The interaction also highlighted the rich cultural heritage of the Upper West Region and the importance of cultural understanding in promoting national cohesion.

Describing the engagement as both enlightening and inspiring, Hon. Gyan Cudjoe emphasised that the perspectives of seasoned security professionals such as Mr. Selby remain invaluable in shaping effective governance and sustainable security policies.

She further underscored the importance of maintaining strong inter-regional relationships, particularly in the areas of security collaboration, social cohesion, and inclusive national development.
“As leaders, we must continue to build bridges across regions and sectors. Our collective progress as a nation depends on unity of purpose and mutual respect,” she added.

The visit has attracted commendation from constituents and political observers alike, who see it as a demonstration of humility, gratitude, and people-centred leadership. Many believe such engagements strengthen institutional trust and reinforce the principle that service to the nation is a lifelong commitment.

As Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe continues her parliamentary work for the people of Amenfi Central, she has reaffirmed her dedication to promoting peace, security, and development across Ghana, irrespective of regional boundaries. The visit to Gwollu stands as a compelling example of leadership grounded in appreciation, collaboration, and a shared vision for a united and prosperous Ghana.
