THE MINISTER for the Interior, Hon. Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, has held a friendly meeting with the new British High Commissioner to Ghana, His Excellency Christian Rogg, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between Ghana and the United Kingdom.

The courtesy visit focused on key areas of partnership, especially law enforcement training, counter-terrorism efforts, and border security management. Both sides also shared ideas on other areas of mutual interest and possible support to help improve safety and security in Ghana.

Hon. Muntaka Mubarak highlighted the long-standing and strong relationship between Ghana and the UK. He expressed appreciation to the British High Commission for its continued support, particularly in peacebuilding programmes and development projects in northern Ghana, which have helped promote stability and social cohesion.

The Interior Minister also called for sustained collaboration to strengthen important national institutions. These include the Narcotics Control Commission, the Ghana Prisons Service, the Ghana Immigration Service, and the National Peace Council.

According to him, supporting these institutions is key to improving national security and ensuring lasting peace across the country.
