A COLLECTIVE of young members within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has issued a heartfelt appeal to former President John Dramani Mahama, urging him to extend clemency to Sammy Gyamfi, the party’s National Communications Officer, amidst recent controversies.
The appeal comes in the wake of a viral video involving self-styled evangelist Agradaa, which has sparked debates about Gyamfi’s conduct and its implications for the party’s image.
In a statement titled “An Appeal for Clemency—A Plea to President Mahama to Spare Sammy Gyamfi,” the youth group acknowledges the gravity of the situation but emphasizes Gyamfi’s longstanding dedication and service to the NDC.
“Sammy Gyamfi has been an indefatigable champion of the NDC’s values and vision, tirelessly defending the party’s ideals with unflinching passion and dedication,” the statement reads.
The group appeals to President Mahama’s known capacity for forgiveness, urging him to consider the context and Gyamfi’s contributions before making any decisions that could affect his position within the party.
