THE National Democratic Congress (NDC) has introduced a new digital platform to provide information and improve communication ahead of its upcoming national executive elections scheduled for this weekend.
Deputy National Communication Officer of the party, Godwin Ako Gunn, announced the initiative at a press conference at the NDC headquarters, Rawlings House.
He explained that the platform forms part of measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the elections by providing party members with timely information and guidance on the electoral arrangements.
According to Mr. Gunn, the platform is also intended to bridge the gap between contestants and grassroots supporters by giving aspirants an opportunity to present their messages to party members across the country.
He noted that some party members had called for parliamentary candidates and national executive aspirants to visit their constituencies to engage them directly.
However, he explained that the limited time available before the elections would make it difficult for all contestants to travel to every constituency.
“The platform will give constituents the opportunity to know who is contesting for what position, listen to them and engage them directly,” he stated.
Mr. Gunn said the initiative would therefore provide an alternative avenue for aspirants to communicate their messages and interact with party members ahead of the polls.

He further announced that the party’s General Secretary was expected to address members the following day to explain the detailed arrangements for the elections.
The address, he said, would be followed by another press conference to provide further updates on the preparations.
Mr. Gunn urged party members and the media to participate in the engagements and follow official communications from the party to stay informed about the electoral process.
