HON. ALEXANDER Kwame Twumasi has been sworn in as the new Presiding Member of the Ayawaso Central Municipal Assembly (ACMA).

Sworn into office by a Magistrate of the District Court, Hon. Kwame Twumasi has pledged to make the Assembly more accessible to residents while strengthening revenue mobilisation and enforcement of municipal regulations.

He said he would lead monthly visits to every electoral area, accompanied by technical officers from departments including Social Welfare, Budget, Births and Deaths and Transport.

The visits, he explained, would enable residents to understand the Assembly’s work and know where to channel their concerns.

Hon. Kwame Twumasi also promised to tackle revenue leakages and enforce building regulations, warning that offenders would be treated according to the law regardless of their status.

“The law is no respecter of persons”:

Whether you are a pastor or a chief, the right thing must be done.”
He further warned developers against leaving sand and other building materials on roads and said abandoned vehicles would be removed to keep roads clear for motorists and emergency services.

On the 24-Hour Economy Market, the new PM said he would request a progress report on the project. He disclosed that some people had already been moved from the site and spaces allocated for traders’ containers and kiosks.

He said he expected further progress on the project in the coming days, describing it as an initiative intended to benefit residents across the municipality and beyond.
