THE MUNICIPAL Chief Executive for Ayawaso Central, Rudolph Colling-Woode Williams, has outlined a renewed development agenda focused on education and youth empowerment during activities marking Ghana’s 69th Independence Anniversary in the municipality.
Addressing residents, students and local leaders at the Quaye Mensah Memorial Astroturf in Alajo on March 6, 2026, the MCE said the Ayawaso Central Municipal Assembly is intensifying efforts to improve educational infrastructure and expand opportunities for young people.

The celebration formed part of nationwide activities under the theme “Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope.”
Hon. Williams revealed that the Assembly is implementing a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening education in the municipality.
These include the rehabilitation of school facilities, the promotion of digital learning and innovation, and programmes designed to reward academic excellence among students.
He also highlighted ongoing youth development and skills training initiatives intended to equip young people with practical abilities that will help them participate meaningfully in the country’s economic growth.


According to the MCE, sustained investment in education remains essential to building a prosperous and resilient society. He noted that the Assembly will continue to prioritize improvements in learning environments and educational resources.
Hon. Williams commended teachers in the municipality for their commitment to shaping the next generation and urged parents to support their children’s academic development.

He further encouraged residents to uphold peace, unity and environmental responsibility, stressing that national development requires collective effort from all citizens.
The Independence Day event brought together assembly members, traditional authorities, students and residents of the municipality. Schoolchildren participated in marching displays a mix cheers.
Several dignitaries, including the Presiding Member, Municipal Coordinating Director, Municipal Director of Education, District Police Commander, Chiefs and Queen mothers, and other government officials, were present at the ceremony.


As Ghana celebrates 69 years of independence, the Ayawaso Central Municipal Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to initiatives that will enhance education, empower youth and improve the overall well-being of residents.
