THE DEPUTY Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Yussif Jajah, has reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to building stronger cultural and tourism partnerships with Guyana.
He made the remarks while representing the sector minister, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, during a courtesy call by a Guyanese delegation led by Deputy Mayor Denise Althee Miller.

The visit, held at the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts in Accra, focused on exploring new opportunities for collaboration in culture, tourism, and the creative arts.
Hon. Jajah described the engagement as an important step toward deepening historical and cultural bonds between the two nations. He noted that Ghana and Guyana share strong ties rooted in history, language, and heritage.
“We are more than ever ready to partner with you in any aspect that has to do with culture, tourism, or creative arts. Our doors are open because we are all brothers and sisters,” he said. “Guyana is home to us, just as Ghana is home to you.”

Deputy Mayor Miller, in her remarks, spoke about the long-standing cultural, historical, and political links between the two countries. She highlighted Guyana’s revolutionary history and how aspects of it can be traced back to Ghanaian roots.
Both sides expressed optimism that the renewed engagement will lead to practical partnerships, cultural exchanges, and expanded opportunities in the creative sector.

The meeting ended with a shared commitment to strengthen cooperation and build on the rich heritage that connects Ghana and Guyana.
