THE ASAFO companies (warrior groups) from the various clans in Ada returned from their traditional war re-enactment in grand style as part of this year’s Asafotufiami Festival celebrations.
As part of tradition, the Asafos gathered at the community centre, where they recounted their symbolic victories before the Paramount Chief of Ada, Nene Abraham Kabu Acquaku III.

The Chief commended them for their bravery, discipline, and strong display of unity. He urged them to continue upholding the customs and pride of the Ada people.
After the gathering, each Asafo group, along with their Asafo Atsemei (war captains) and Asafo Nyemei ( women captainsp), returned to their respective communities in preparation for the grand durbar.

The main durbar of this year’s poorly attended event on Friday, which is the highlight of the Asafotufiami Festival, will take place on Saturday. Chiefs from all Ada communities will once again converge to pay homage to the Paramount Chief and reaffirm their loyalty.
The festival, rich in culture and history, celebrates the warrior spirit of the Ada people and serves as a symbol of peace, unity, and ancestral pride.
