
IN A HEARTFELT display of cultural reverence, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Member of Parliament for Krowor and Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, actively participated in the sacred Kplejoo rites in Nungua, Greater Accra Region.
The Kplejoo festival, a precursor to the Homowo celebrations, holds profound significance for the GaDangme people. It commemorates their historical journey and seeks blessings for a bountiful harvest. Central to the festival is the arrival and sprinkling of the sacred corn, symbolizing gratitude and hope.

Prior to the rites, Minister Naa Momo Lartey paid a courtesy call on Nuumo Gborbu Wulomo-Shitse at Oofu We, expressing appreciation for the traditional authorities’ dedication to preserving Nungua’s rich customs.
