LAGOS, NIGERIA — Fidelity Bank Plc brought colour, creativity, and celebration to this year’s Children’s Day with the grand unveiling of its Read2Lead Anthology and the award of ₦150,000 scholarships to four outstanding young students.

The event, themed “Fidelity Fantasyland 3.0,” took place at the bank’s Oniru Grounds in Lagos and drew hundreds of enthusiastic students, parents, and educators from across the nation.

The Read2Lead Anthology, a vibrant collection of superhero-themed essays penned by 30 finalists of the bank’s flagship literacy competition, showcases the storytelling talent and imaginative power of Nigerian youth.

With the theme “Naija Superheroes,” the anthology is a celebration of creativity, resilience, and the boundless potential of the country’s next generation.

In her keynote address, Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Bank Plc, praised the efforts of over 3,000 students who participated in the inaugural edition of the competition.

“Today is not just the end of a competition – it is a celebration of vision, hard work, and potential,” she said. “This anthology is a powerful testament to the promise of Nigeria’s next generation. Each story is a seed of wisdom, leadership, and a brighter future.”

The high-energy event was packed with fun-filled activities including dancing competitions, face painting, arcade games, and singing contests, transforming the Fidelity Grounds into a wonderland of joy and inspiration.

A major highlight of the day was the announcement of scholarship awards to four exceptional pupils: Thiago Chukwudubem Agada, Nabeela Nia Rufai, Victory Alize Chukwuebuka and Osinachi Olivia Onyeaghala. Each received ₦150,000 under the Fidelity Savings Loyalty Scheme (FSLS), reaffirming the bank’s commitment to educational empowerment.

Fidelity Bank Plc, recognized as one of Nigeria’s top-performing financial institutions, continues to invest heavily in youth development, financial inclusion, and digital innovation.

With over 9.1 million customers, a UK subsidiary (FidBank UK Ltd.), and numerous industry awards—including the 2024 Excellence in Digital Transformation and Best Bank for SMEs—the bank remains a key player in the nation’s financial growth and social advancement.

In a country teeming with untapped talent, Fidelity Bank’s Read2Lead initiative is lighting the way – one story, one student, one future at a time.
