A THREE-MENBER Russian delegation led by Mr. Viktor Kolikov has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie (MP), to discuss potential partnerships between Ghana and the Russian Federation in the travel and tourism sector.

The meeting, held at the Ministry’s offices over the week, focused on fostering collaboration between the two countries’ private sectors to boost tourism promotion, travel exchange programmes, and joint destination marketing.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Kolikov and his team praised Ghana’s emerging position as a top cultural and heritage tourism destination, noting that Russian tourists are increasingly seeking unique cultural experiences in Africa.

They expressed interest in working with Ghanaian tour operators and hospitality providers to build attractive travel packages that could significantly increase Russian arrivals.

Hon. Dzifa Gomashie welcomed the initiative, emphasizing Ghana’s openness to strategic global partnerships that align with the Ministry’s vision to enhance cultural diplomacy and tourism development.

She highlighted ongoing efforts to diversify tourism offerings, improve infrastructure, and harness digital tools to promote Ghana on the international stage.

The visit signals a promising direction for deepened Ghana-Russia tourism relations and reflects Ghana’s broader agenda to become a tourism hub in West Africa.
