PRESIDENT-ELECT, John Dramani Mahama has unveiled a six-member interim team to oversee and coordinate national security issues ahead of substantive appointments. The team will commence its mandate on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
In a statement signed and released by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Special Aide to the President-Elect, the interim team will be led by Prosper Douglas Bani, a former Minister for the Interior. Other notable members include:
Lt. General Peter Augustine Blay (Rtd.), former Chief of Defence Staff
Kofi Totobi Quakyi, former Minister for National Security
Larry Gbevlo-Lartey Esq., former National Security Coordinator
Brigadier General Fuseini Iddrisu (Rtd.)
COP Nathaniel Kofi Boakye (Rtd.)
This announcement reflects President-Elect Mahama’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and secured transition. The team, comprising of seasoned security experts, will play a pivotal role in addressing pressing national security matters.
