THE TRANSITION Team of President-elect John Dramani Mahama has issued a stern warning to the outgoing NPP government over last-minute recruitments, payments and promotions. In a press statement released on Tuesday, the team criticized the outgoing administration for continuing with these activities despite an earlier agreement to clear such decisions with the Joint Transition Team.
According to the spokesperson for the Mahama Transition Team, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, these actions — including backdated appointments and payments are being done in “bad faith” and will not be tolerated. He emphasized that all such decisions will be reversed once the new government assumes office and those responsible will face strict accountability.

“For the avoidance of doubt, all public officials are strongly cautioned to resist pressure from the outgoing political actors to engage in these acts as they could attract severe sanctions when the new government takes office,” the statement read.
The warning comes just days after a joint transition team meeting held on December 13, 2024, where an agreement was reportedly reached to ensure smooth coordination during the handover of power. The Mahama Team, however, alleges that the outgoing government has chosen to act unilaterally – creating concerns about fairness and transparency in the transition process.
As the nation prepares for a formal transfer of power, public officials have been urged to remain vigilant and avoid participating in activities that could undermine the integrity of the transition.
Investigations into the matter by the National Tymes has revealed that, over 2,500 persons between the ages of 18 and 33 years have reported at the National Police Depot in Accra as new recruits.

The investigations revealed that, two weeks ago, about 1,500 young and old persons reported at the police depot. As if that was not enough, additional 1000 and over with their chop boxes also reported at the same depot in Accra today, December 17, 2024, to commence training.
As this relates to just Accra depot, the questions one may be asking are that, how many people are being recruited at other police depots across the country and what about all other security agencies such as the military, the fire service, the immigration service, the prisons service, the navy and nadmo. Again, how many people being recruited at the various institutions across the for the past two weeks.
This dubious last minute recruitments and appointments by the outgoing NPP government speaks volumes of a diabolical scheme being orchestrated to satisfy their evil desires.
